The Vision Center of Johnson County is always in the process of modernization. We enjoy bringing in the most up-to-date styles of contacts and glasses. Dr. Jons has taken it one step further in replacing and updating all the exam equipment in order to obtain the most precise and accurate diagnosis and prescription for you. In the quickly changing world of vision care, it is vital to keep up with latest technology. We find it even more important to do this while maintaining the values of a small town.

 

Dr. Christopher Jons, Optometrist

Dr. Christopher Jons was born in Laramie, Wyoming. He went to high school in Lyman, and attended the University of Wyoming for his undergraduate education. At UW, Chris ran for the University of Wyoming Cross Country and Track teams. While there, his life was changed forever when a drunk driver killed eight of his friends and teammates. This motivated him to actively fight against drinking and driving. After finishing his undergraduate work in 2002, he attended Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Chris graduated in 2006 with a Doctor of Optometry degree.

It was at Pacific where Dr. Jons met his wife, Tracy, who is currently a Physician Assistant for Sheridan Women’s Health. In Buffalo, Chris is currently active with their church, Rotary, and the YMCA, along with supporting many other local activities. Chris is grateful to the Buffalo community for how well they have embraced and supported The Vision Center of Johnson County.

 

 

Donna Nielsen, Optician

With more than 30 years experience at the Vision Center, Donna continues her amazing work in our complete optical lab. She is well known for her taste in glasses and can find the perfect fit whether you desire style or practicality. Not only can she make glasses in a timely manner, she’ll do it to Dr. Jons and your specifications. Donna takes great pride in her work, and it shows. Donna and her husband Tom aka "Dr. Tom" have lived in Buffalo for 40 years enjoying the outdoors every chance they get.

 

Lorajane Kessler joined the practice one year ago. Lorajane has become quite specialized in the front office including assisting with any insurance questions. Lorajane and her husband Aaron have two boys Max and Nathan.
